About Me

Hi! Welcome to my blog! My name is Bridget and I currently reside in the beautiful UTAH, USA!  I teach 7th grade science and am a lover of all things geeky.

I absolutely love to sew, and there's nothing I love creating more than a good costume!  My goal is always to make high-quality, expensive-looking, and screen-accurate costumes.  Occasionally, I'll make everyday clothing too :)  I've recently joined the cosplay scene and love to make costumes for geeky conventions (my husband fully supports this endeavor).  This has given me the opportunity to learn more than I ever imagined about costume-making!  I also started making costumes for my nieces, since kids never need an excuse to dress up!

I love my pets as if they were my own children.  I have a beautiful and amazingly sweet dog named Cindy Lou.  We adopted her from Lost Paws, a pet rescue agency, when I was 16 years old and she'll always be my baby.  My husband and I also have a silly little parrot (rose-breasted cockatoo) named Fawkes who is too smart for his own good.  He hatched in the spring of 2014 and has a life expectancy of about 60 years.

I am a Mormon and I love all that I have learned and grown to become as a result of Jesus Christ.  From March 2009 to September 2010, I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawaii.  I had the opportunity to teach families and volunteer at the Polynesian Cultural Center and Mormon Temple Visitors' Center as a tour guide.  In 2012 I was married in the historic Salt Lake Temple for the LDS Church.  My husband is my best friend and continues to help me become the best me possible!

Aside from spending 18 months in Hawaii (my second home), I also had the opportunity to work in Walt Disney World as a part of the Disney College program in Spring 2007.  WDW is my third home and I made some of the most amazing friends during my time there.  It was so neat to learn about the inner workings of the parks & be a part of of the magic.  I am definitely a Disney lover! For the record, Walt Disney World is SO MUCH BETTER than Disneyland.
